The New World: Music For All Ages

The theme of our March family concert is “The New World: Music for All Ages.” In addition to Dvorak’s iconic masterpiece New World Symphony, played side-by-side with the Norwalk Youth Symphony, we will present the young winner of our 2018 Concerto Competition, performing with the NSO orchestra. You will also hear Aaron Copland’s beloved Lincoln Portrait, actual excerpts from the President’s speeches read by Tony Award winning actor James Naughton. The program opens with Charles Ives’s haunting The Unanswered Question, in which we see three separate groups of instruments on and off stage play in independent tempos.
