HOLIDAY SING-ALONG FOR THE ENTIRE AUDIENCE!
On December 7 at 5 PM, the Norwalk Symphony returns to an old tradition, presenting one of the great classics of the holiday season, the Christmas portion of Handel’s Messiah. There’s a new twist this time around, though; the audience will be the chorus!– our conductor, Jonathan Yates, will turn around and conduct the audience in what promises to be an incredible outpouring of music-making. Members of the Serendipity Chorale and the New Canaan High School Chorus will be featured as leaders of the choir to ensure the highest level of music making. Four soloists with sparkling international careers (Amelia Watkins, Leanne Gonzalez-Singer, Thomas Young, and Michael Rice) will sing the famous arias. After the Messiah, the concert will become even more festive, with the choir from Pivot Ministries singing gospel music, and the entire concert will end with the all of the choruses, soloists and audience members singing holiday songs with the orchestra.
This concert is being sponsored in part by Allen Edmonds Shoe Company
In addition to their generous sponsorship of our Holiday Extravaganza, Allen Edmonds Shoes is offering Norwalk Symphony audience members 10% off at Allen Edmonds Shoes, 69 Main Street, Westport.
Allen Edmonds will donate an additional 10% of their sales during the week of December 8 to 15 to the Norwalk Symphony.
