Volunteer InformationDear Valued Usher, We would like to thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra and welcome those who are joining us for the first time! You’ll be pleased to know that we are going through some very exciting transitions with our Board and staff. We have been working very hard to heighten our presence in this community and enhance the concert experience for our patrons. As an example, at the March 20th Concert, we will welcome several students and families to their first concert experience. In addition, we will hold a community wide Food Drive to benefit the hungry in Fairfield County. We hope that you are as excited as we are in the transformation of the Norwalk Symphony into the professional orchestra that it truly deserves! To help streamline the process, our Volunteer Committee and Staff have revised the NSO usher manual. Before our next concert we would like to ask that each of you attend one of two mandatory training sessions to make sure you are well aware of the goals we are trying to achieve and the NSO concert experience that we wish to deliver to our audience. The session will only last about 30 minutes. The changes that we plan to implement will make concert evenings more pleasant and memorable for all of you, as well as for our patrons. A link listed below this letter is for a commitment sheet. Please indicate which of the two training session you will be attending. In addition, please specify which concerts you will be able to usher for the rest of this season. Please return this in the envelope provided, by Friday, March 5th. By helping us plan in advance, you will help us immensely in ensuring a successful concert. Please read through the new Volunteer Usher Manual to give yourself a chance to be familiar with our new procedures before our training sessions. Being an usher for the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra is rewarding and a wonderful way to give back to the community. If you have friends and family who might be interested in joining our volunteer team in our collective efforts to take the Norwalk Symphony to the next level, please have them call or email the NSO office – (203) 847-8844 and info@norwalksymphony.org – or bring a friend with you to a training session! Again, thank you for your dedication. We look forward to seeing you in March! With much appreciation, Audrey J. Szychulski |
