A great opportunity for young musicians.

2019 Young Artists Festival - February 2, 2019,  Norwalk City Hall

Note:  APPLICATIONS are due december 15, 2018

The Norwalk Symphony will offer this unique program for young musicians, and we have many new features this year. Most notably, we are opening the Junior and Senior competition levels to pianists! Please refer to the brochures for guidelines.  You will find the Young Artists Festival brochure here, and the Young Artists Festival Concerto Competition brochure here. Also, we have worksheets available to help students prepare for the theory test in the Festival level.

All Festival level participants are strongly encouraged to attend the Concerto Competition on Saturday, February 2 to experience the spectacular level of musical performances that have become the norm. The Concerto Competition is presented as a recital and is open to the pubic.  Tickets are $10 each, $5 for students.

Please celebrate with the winner of the Concerto Competition when they join the Norwalk Symphony Ochestra to perform during the Music For All Ages subscription series concert on Sunday, March 17th, 2019 at 3pm. Inaugural Chamber Music Festival - April 27, 2019

Pre-formed string student ensembles, ages 18 and younger, will receive 90 minutes of coaching from a member of a professional quartet.  Coaches are invited to observe the master class, and all ensembles will perform in a closing concert at the end of the day.  Please click here for the brochure.  Applications are due by March 1, 2019.
