Huw Jones, Incoming Executive Director

The Norwalk Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce the appointment of Huw Jones as its new Executive Director. “Huw’s unique combination of artistic leadership, educational experience, and financial expertise makes him exceptionally well suited to lead the Symphony into an exciting new era of growth, community engagement, and artistic excellence,” said Douglas Adams, Board President.

Raised in the UK and a graduate of the University of Cambridge, Huw is an accomplished music educator, organist, and administrator who has served in numerous capacities at leading independent schools for the past 20 years, including as an Assistant Head at London's John Lyon School. Early in his career, he qualified as a chartered accountant, giving him a breadth of experience across both arts and finance.

As a school music director in England, Huw spent more than a decade overseeing departments of more than 20 staff members while collaborating with the London Chamber Orchestra to give underserved children access to instrumental instruction with professional artists. He joins the Norwalk Symphony from the music department of Greenwich Country Day School. Huw is also the Associate Organist at St. Luke's Parish in Darien and serves on the board of the Darien Arts Center.

"I'm honored to be joining the Norwalk Symphony community and to have the opportunity to build upon the great work that Sandra Miklave has undertaken during her tenure as Executive Director," said Huw. "I look forward to working closely with Jonathan Yates and the board to ensure that great orchestral music remains accessible and vital to this community.”

Huw assumes this role as of July, 2026.
