Norwalk Symphony, Stepping Stones Museum for Children and Norwalk Public Schools: Virtual Content Partnership

May 26, 2020

We are proud to announce a new virtual content partnership between the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, Stepping Stones Museum for Children, and the Norwalk Public Schools.

Based on the Symphony's (Not) Just for Kids program, we have the opportunity to be a part of the virtual learning platform for grades K-3 throughout the Norwalk school system. These students receive work-packets mailed to their homes, which are supplemented by daily virtual content. Working with the music department and Visual and Performing Arts Senior Manager for the school system, the Norwalk Symphony will be providing engaging video content about music and instruments starting with this video and for the next five weeks. Stepping Stones will complement the content with a fun home extension activity related to each week's video!  An additional worksheet from the Norwalk Symphony will reinforce the concepts shared in the video.

Please enjoy this first video where Maestro Jonathan Yates introduces the orchestra, instrument families, and then gives us a conducting lesson!
